Founder of the Goodmoods magazine and styling agency, Julia Rouzaud captures the zeitgeist through her iconic moodboards. In 2025, she created her eponymous studio, blending art direction, curation, and interior design. Rooted in her Champagne heritage and always in pursuit of good taste, she joined Maison Louis Roque with her keen eye and lifestyle expertise. Together with her husband Julien Vandromme and their longtime friend Stanislas Thierry, they took over the reins of Maison Louis Roque with humility and ambition.
What is your story, your genesis?
I'm the youngest after 3 older brothers, and I grew up at the heart of a Champagne house. Everything set me up to become an unsufferable princess—I try every day to escape that fate.
What has shaped your taste (in the broadest sense)?
My mother and, by extension, my grandmother—the two most elegant women I know.
What craftsmanship was passed down to you?
To care. For objects, things, one's environment. To capture and radiate as much beauty as possible.
What value do you try to pass on in turn?
To my children: curiosity and openness, the desire to want!
What would you have liked to be able to do with your hands?
Paint, but I definitely intend to learn! I've just taken up the piano again, which is immensely satisfying.
What is most French about you? My taste for simplicity, or rather the art of making things look easy when I'm actually a perfectionist.
What is your greatest adventure?
Working as a family for Maison Louis Roque.
What is your favorite bistro or iconic restaurant?
‹Le Royal Bar›, for the festive atmosphere. For the institution: ‹La Grenouillère›, still unmatched in my eyes.
Which icon do you think best represents France? Sophie Marceau. Yves Saint Laurent. Always that art of simplicity.
What is your mantra or a motto that guides your life? Know thyself, and on days when I can't: "Don't worry about the bike, just pedal!"
Is there an object or work that embodies French taste? A bottle of Vieille Prune, obviously.
Who would you find at your table for an ideal dinner? My family, my closest friends, and Demis Roussos to sing us ‹Quand je t'aime›.
What would your ideal menu be (starter-main course-dessert + pairings)? Grilled baby artichokes, pasta with bottarga paired with a Clos Nicrosi, pear tart with 4cl of Vieille Prune Réserve 2015.
What is your best gastronomic memory? L'Assiette Champenoise, impeccable on every level.
