Poster "Bien Faire, Laisser Dire"

75,00€

Creative freedom, the pursuit of quality.

In this refined poster, Jean-Michel Tixier illustrates the historic motto of Maison Louis Roque: Bien Faire, Laisser Dire. It depicts a man focused at a blending table, leaning over a tulip glass and carafes of eaux-de-vie, perhaps Louis Roque himself, or a master blender.

The artist captures with quiet restraint the exigency of the gesture, the precision of artisan work, and that inner calm particular to those who pass on a savoir-faire rather than a speech.

JEAN-MICHEL TIXIER

A self-taught Parisian artist, Jean-Michel Tixier confidently revisits the French tradition of ligne claire. An heir to Hergé, Chaland and Serge Clerc, he brings a resolutely contemporary and grown-up touch to this retro style. His characters, mischievous and ultramodern, seem to step straight out of a comic strip into our own era. His sharp, irreverent line appeals equally to publishing and fashion, where his graphic humour and timeless elegance hit the mark.

INSPIRATION

The motto "Bien Faire, Laisser Dire" has accompanied Maison Louis Roque since 1905: it expresses a philosophy of rigour, patience and creative freedom. In this graphic interpretation, the master blender works in the warm light of a cellar, surrounded by barrels and samples. His focused expression conveys a respect for time and for matter, far removed from the noise of the world.

The poster evokes the quiet refinement of a craft practised out of the spotlight: that of the artisan of taste. Tixier blends realism and stylisation here, in a golden-yellow atmosphere that recalls the iconic colour of La Vieille Prune.
